The Marina Villa Hotel is located on the edge of the Fowey River with stunning views across the river to Polruan and out to sea. Fowey is an ancient port steeped in history with narrow cobbled streets, lots of galleries and shops to wander through and plenty of boats offering half or full day trips. Nearby the famous writer Daphne Du Maurier grew up and later set many of her novels around the coastal area of Fowey.
This is a luxury boutique hotel with attention to detail found in each of its 18 beautiful hotel rooms and suites. The linen is Egyptian cotton and the pillows are feather with high quality ‘Hypnos’ mattresses conducive to a refreshing nights sleep. Last year was a memorable one for this fine coastal hotel with the award of a Michelin star for their Restaurant Nathan Outlaw. Nathan and his team were also awarded the Good Food Restaurant of the Year 2007. The restaurant features fresh, local produce put together simply with a well though out wine menu.
There is plenty to see and do in and around Fowey, catch the ferry to Mevagissey another picture postcard Cornish fishing village. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden are close by with the well know Lobbs farmshop at Heligan providing everything for a tempting locally sourced picnic for your day out in Cornwall.
