On the south coast of Cornwall on the Lizard Peninsula is the tiny village of Coverack. This small fishing village with its thatched and lime washed cottages has seen many shipwrecks on the nearby Manacles Rocks in years gone by, now the Manacles are a favoured diving destination. Coverack has a beautiful sandy bay, which provides protection from the prevailing South Westerly winds.
The village has a water sports centre, youth hostel and a number of hotels. The area is one of outstanding natural beauty and the water quality is superb. The gulf-stream gives this part of South West Cornwall a Riviera feel. There are regular visits to the bay from dolphins, not to mention the wonderful variety of birds and flora found on the Lizard Peninsula.
