Keigwin Farmhouse bed & breakfast is about 300 years old, set in two acres of gardens and a field overlooking the Atlantic near the small village of Morvah in West Cornwall.
A warm friendly welcome from owner Gilly Wyatt Smith on your arrival at her beautiful Cornish farmhouse along with homemade scones or a cake and pot of tea while enjoying the view starts your stay with that feel good factor.
Gilly provides an organic breakfast with fruit, yogurt, cereal, toasts, croissants with homemade marmalade, and a cooked breakfast (preferably vegetarian - but bacon if required!) A large potager provides plenty of vegetables, herbs and salads and the eggs come from her naturally reared ducks and nearby hens.
There are two double rooms and a single to choose from, depending on availability and all are tastefully decorated, guests have their own parlour and sitting room and throughout the farmhouse you will find spectacular art works. Gilly also runs the Yew Tree Gallery located at the farmhouse, which hosts exhibitions of all sorts of art from Easter to the end of October featuring mainly Cornish artists.
The area also has a unique place in Britain´s natural history with many species of flora and fauna found nowhere else in the British Isles. Morvah itself is a small Cornish village in a moorland setting with spectacular views from the Lands End to St Ives coastal footpath. Its 15th century church was used as a shipping beacon for many years. A sandy/rocky beach and the SW coast path are just a few minutes´ walk away. The farmhouse is just 6 miles from St Ives on the B3306.
Gilly is toying with the idea of a Shepherd´s Hut in the field with a totally uninterrupted view of the sea, which will be let to people feeling more like living with the elements – watch this space !
