The Old Forge is a haven of peace in the beautiful riverside village of Lerryn. Chris and Rachel ensure a warm welcome and having unpacked you can enjoy wandering through the gardens which go down to the water´s edge.
Accommodation at the Old Forge is all on the ground floor with the choice of an ensuite double or a suite with its own sitting room and separate shower room. All food is local and organic where possible (Vegan, vegetarian or special dietary requirements available on request). Breakfast can be taken outdoors when the weather is fine or in the dining room by the wood burner in the autumn months, the river views and home cooked food are a fantastic way to start your day.
Lerryn village lies on the River Lerryn, a tributary of the River Fowey. The woods either side of the River are beautiful for walking at any time of year and were said to be the inspiration for Kenneth Grahame´s "Tales of the Riverbank". From here you can easily explore the South East coast of Cornwall , the quaint fishing villages of Polperro, Fowey, Mevagissey and Looe are all worth a visit.
This is a lovely part of Cornwall in the all months but the Spring ones are particularly beautiful with colourful hedgerows and early bulbs and blossom.
