Skinners Brewery is situated in the heart of the beautiful cathedral city of Truro. One of Cornwall’s most famous award winning breweries, Skinners offers tours, tastings and an excellent shop.
This family run business has just celebrated it’s 10th anniversary and was delighted to have been awarded the Champion Best Bitter of Great Britain award in the 2008 Great British Beer Festival at Earl’s Court in august this year. The beer that swung the award for them is their renowned Betty Stoggs.
Using Cornish barley and recently Cornish honey for a beautiful flavour all their beers are hugely popular – they have great fun naming them and Betty Stoggs is now a full of life character who helps their promotions and fund raising activities.
Brewery Tours operate for groups or individuals starting 12pm & 2.30pm Monday to Friday (Easter - Oct), with evening tours (Groups only) available Monday to Saturday. After the tour you are welcome to relax in the brand new Visitor´s Centre and sample some of our famous Cornish cask-conditioned ales, lagers and now cider, each of which is named after characters in Cornish folklore.
As well as having a shop on site you can also buy their beer online – very useful for visitors who just fancy a pint of Cornish ale to remind them of their holiday or who would like to buy a present – they have an excellent range of clothing, including some funny T shirts.
