Golitha Falls are 800 yards of cascading water on the River Fowey north of Bodmin Moor.
The Golitha Falls are produced as the River Fowey flows through a steep valley gorge on it’s way to the sea. The Falls are now managed by English Nature and there is a car park with public toilets nearby from which to begin your walk. Whilst beautiful at any time of year – after rainfall the Falls are particularly stunning and large stone structures downstream suggest an industrial past.

The ancient woodlands are largely of oak, ash and beech. The site is home to a wide variety of lichens, liverwort, moss, birds and moths, including some rare species. Take your dog, who will be eternally grateful to you for all the pools and streams that he can investigate! Good sturdy walking shoes are recommended and there is plenty of rock scrabbling for the more adventurous.
