The Retreat Boat is a wonderful way to enjoy a boating holiday without the need to be boaty or know anything about boats at all.

Two luxurious boats which are both moored at Darthaven Marina, opposite Dartmouth on the River Dart have been fully kitted out to provide luxury holiday accommodation. One is a 40ft motor boat the other a 40ft sailing boat. This means that they can both sleep up to 6 people and have full central heating, TV/DVD, towels and linen, they even provide a welcome pack of food essentials on your arrival.

Every window on these boats has a superb river view and should you wish to take the boat on a trip they arrange for a skipper to come aboard and sail you off to explore the Devon coastline or if you have time popping down to Falmouth in Cornwall. If you would like some tuition on how to sail or motor the boats themselves all skippers are fully qualified to be able to do this – you could take home a new skill!

This is a perfect get away from it all type of holiday with the added bonus of trying something new if you are not a boating person. Dartmouth and the surrounding area are beautiful and there are plenty of good local restaurants, Dartmouth Castle and the steam railway to explore if you prefer a combination of land and water experiences.
