Fowey Hall Hotel in Fowey was the inspiration behind Toad Hall in ´Wind in the Willows´ and sits in a spectacular location overlooking the sailing and fishing port of Fowey on the South Cornish coast, within its original walled gardens and with commanding views of the river estuary and far out to sea... The town and the local sandy cove at Readymoney are both a short walk from this fine coastal hotel, which is also within easy reach of the many superb attractions in Cornwall including The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Fowey Hall has 36 bedrooms, including 12 spacious suites of varying sizes and each with its own distinctive character. A fabulous new wing that complements so beautifully the older parts of the house, accommodates 12 new rooms linked to the main house. All enjoy estuary views as do many of the 15 wonderfully luxurious rooms in the main house. There are 8 rooms in The Court, the original coach house, just a one minute walk from the main house.

Many of the rooms in the main house have antique double beds, while some of the rooms in the garden wing enjoy king size beds, so if you are a long tall Sally or Sam, please discuss with reception! For the children, rooms have double sofa beds or have room for z-beds and cots. All rooms have direct dial telephone, colour television with video player, radio, hairdryer and adult bathrobes. Complimentary fresh fruit, delicious, home-made biscuits and mineral water are also provided.

Food is simple and classic, using only the very best Cornish produce, with an emphasis on fish and seafood. Lobsters from our own tank and oysters and mussels fresh daily from the Fowey River oyster farm just below in the estuary.

Hansons is a wonderful combination of the original oak panelled dining room once used by the family it is named after, blended cleverly with the addition of a light modern space with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the hotel croquet lawn.

Lunch is served in the hotel Conservatory which opens directly onto the terrace, perfect for watching the world sail by on a sunny day and is the setting for the hotel’s famous summer BBQ´s.

Fowey Hall is a coastal hotel retreat for all seasons - not just in the summer! During the quieter winter months, curl up by one of the roaring log fires with a selection of the latest magazines or a good book, take a bracing walk along the cliffs and stop in at a local pub for a pint of Cornish scrumpy, and when you are tired and tingling, return to the hotel for a massage in the privacy and comfort of your room or in our new Aquae Sulis Retreat.
